A great day walking for 3 of us, but now there is some major flooding along the route we wanted to take to Texas. We crossed many rivers that were high but certainly not flooded, however I10 was closed because of flooding on the Interstate between Louisiana and Texas. It was interesting to encounter a couple of workers on a bridge who were measuring the depth of a river. They said it was at 19 feet and normal depth is 3-4 feet! It was another day of roadkill, and it was pretty smelly out there. We finally found a hotel with an open pool, so it was nice to be able to soak our feet and sit out for a while after we checked in. There were a couple of really nice houses on our route, and the azaleas are blooming.
I hope you're able to find an alternate route!
