DAYS 42 & 43 - 38.3 and 35.7 MILES

A record day yesterday for our first full day in Texas!  We walked through a little town where Texaco was founded in 1903, and there was a great series of murals on a building.  This part of Texas is much nicer than Louisiana with bigger houses and ranches, less roadkill and less trash.  We could not post yesterday because of bad internet connection at the hotel.
After several days of warm weather, today was chilly and windy after last night's rain.  After we walked, we drove to Maxine's friends, Peggy and Arch's house. They have a great place on a beautiful lake, and we enjoyed sitting on their deck, going out for dinner and playing Mexican Train after we returned to their house. Thanks so much for your hospitality.
