DAY 44 - 41.3 MILES - A New Record

Not only did we walk over 41 miles, but we also hit 900 total early today!!  Jacque did her personal record of 12.3.  It was a beautiful day, although quite breezy, but it was nice and cool. We walked through a couple of small towns and a big one which is pure suburbia but with a gorgeous lake. It also had 6 lanes of traffic and lots of strip shopping centers.  Then we had a beautiful stretch with huge ranches and gorgeous wild flowers blooming along the banks of the road.  Their blue bonnet looks like  Colorado lupine, and their paintbrush is similar to Colorado's.   We are spending another night with Peggy and Arch, and they made us a great dinner of smoked brisket, potatoes, asparagus and salad.  Jacque even tasted meat for the first time in over 40 years!  We thank them again for their gracious hospitality and 2 evenings of Mexican Train and look forward to seeing them in Colorado in May.

  3. Oh, and I forgot. My friend Dave, who lives in Anchorage and visited with us in Feb, has been following your posts. Gail sent me paper copies of the interview in Bay St Louis. I'm saving them for you.

  5. Love the flower photos and Jacque's accomplishments with mileage and eating meat. ;-) Was "Cut and Shoot" the name of the town that the Post Office was in?
