DAY 34 - 0 MILES

Bad weather finally caught up to us, and it looks as though we will be grounded until Sunday. Fortunately we are in a nice suite hotel and not in a flood zone, and there is a movie theater 3 miles away. Today we saw Eddie The Eagle which was pretty good. Then we went to the Bass Sporting Goods store so Mary Kay and Jacque could buy some mace. Maxine and Pat have been carrying a canister since day 1. On Tuesday Mary Kay was bitten on the leg by a dachshund as she walked on the road. The owner was there, they exchanged information, he said the dog was up to date on rabies shots, but we did have to go to a nearby hospital to get the wound cleaned out, and for her to get a tetnus shot and antibiotics and file a report with the local sherrif's office. She is fine, and yesterday was her day to drive anyway.
No photos today. Maybe tomorrow.

  3. I just spent an hour or so catching up on your blog postings. During our WWA snowshoe hike today (miss you all!), I heard about the dachshund bite incident from Rita, and she sent me a link to your blog after she got home. I hadn't known that you were keeping a blog. What fun you all are having! I'll be checking in to your blog often, now that I have the link. I hope the weather lets up for you soon and you can resume walking again.
